Sherwani for Men by Maviinci

The sherwani is the groom's outfit: a long, structured coat worn over a kurta and churidar, often hand-embroidered and finished with a safa, a mala and mojaris. Brothers and close family wear lighter sherwanis to stand beside the groom.

Every sherwani on this page is a ready design, cut to your measurements so the long coat falls straight and the collar sits flat. Ivory, gold, wine, peach and pastel shades with zardozi, aari or thread work are the most popular for weddings.

Sherwani: questions answered

What is the difference between a sherwani and an achkan?

Both are long coats. A sherwani is fuller and usually more embellished, worn as the groom's outfit; an achkan is slimmer and lighter, often worn by family and guests.

What should a groom wear with a sherwani?

A matching churidar, a safa, a groom's mala, a brooch and mojaris. A dupatta or stole over the shoulder adds a royal touch.

How early should I order my wedding sherwani?

Order at least three to four weeks before the wedding so there is time for stitching, delivery and any alteration.
