For a classic three-piece, yes. A contrast waistcoat in a textured fabric works when worn with a shirt on its own or under a blazer.
Is a waistcoat the same as a Nehru jacket?
No. A waistcoat has a V-neck and is worn under a suit jacket or over a shirt. A Nehru jacket has a closed mandarin collar and is usually worn over a kurta.
